• Project Overview

    The client needed a durable, fully waterproofed balcony surface
    for a dedicated dog run one that could withstand foot/paw traffic, weather exposure, and repeated exposure to pet urine without degrading adhesion or finish over time.

  • The System

    Baron Forge specified a three-part Pasco system, with each
    product playing a distinct role in the build-up:

    • Pasco Aquaprime PU Primer — a fast-drying polyurethane primer that seals the concrete substrate and creates a surface highly receptive to the polyurethane membrane above it, ensuring maximum bond strength from the ground up.
    • Pasco Aquaproof 110 — a moisture-curing elastomeric polyurethane waterproofing membrane, tested to AS4654.1 and AS4858. Once cured it forms a tough, seamless, fully bonded rubber membrane with over 750% elongation and crack-bridging
      capability, ideal for trafficable outdoor terraces.
    • Megapoxy MC — a 100% solids, VOC-free epoxy topcoat providing abrasion, impact, and chemical resistance. Applied in multiple coats for a durable, easy-clean wear surface capable of standing up to daily use.

  • The Testing

    Before sign-off, the system underwent extensive adhesion and chemical resistance testing — including resistance to dog urine, a common cause of premature membrane and coating breakdown in pet areas.
